Père Bruin Press is a family business. Milton Berry Scott wrote Estate Planning for California Residents, which was published in 1983. Dissatisfied at the lack of his publisher's support for his book, he and his family started Père Bruin Press in 1997 to publish his next book What To Do When Someone Dies. Since then Père Bruin Press has published two editions of Probate in Calfornia and The Cinnamon Bears. A travel book, Apart From the Herd, and other projects are in preparation. All of the family members involved in Père Bruin Press have advanced degrees (a PhD, an MPhil, and several MA's) and their commitment to publishing reflects their variety of academic and other interests. In addition, several have taught English at the university level and have extensive experience in editing and writing.
